TRIUMPHALIST--YOU GOT A PROBLEM WITH THAT?

TRIUMPHALIST--YOU GOT A PROBLEM WITH THAT? I believe that the Catholic Church was founded by Christ, on his Apostles, especially Peter, the first Pope. I believe in the teachings of the Ecumenical councils, I revere the Fathers of the Church, and I am an unapologetic Ultramontane Catholic. If you don't like it, too bad.

Deo Gratias!

The Apostolic Constitution for the anglicans has been granted. Under His Holiness, Pope Benedict XVI, we see the first real ecumenism vis a vis the Anglican Tradition.

The Tablet thinks it's a sneaky way to undermine action against global warming.

Congratulations!!!!

Congratulations are due to my favorite Liberal Protestant Academic, Elizabeth over at A Quiet Corner which can be linked to at www.spreadingolive.blogspot.com .

She and her husband have just recieved from God a beautiful little girl, weighing in at about 7 pounds. And yes, there is a photograph.

I've known Liz since she was in highschool, and now whe's approaching 30 and ABD with a doctorate in classics, and a mommy. Where does time go?

1000 years ago, yesterday.

The Islamic hoards that over ran the Christian (and at that point, still Catholic) Middle East destroyed the most sacred spot in Christendom.

Tell me again--why exactly are we to be tolerant of these people who will not even allow us to repair church buildings they have power over? Exactly where is the supposed love of peace3 and tolerance of Islam?

Hope ande Change

Yes, I do have hope, because I see change.

The two changes I see most are these:

Bishop Gumbleton was rather publicly smacked down by another bishop for attempting to address the faithful in his diocese without permission or advanced notice. That's not kosher, and the bishop in question publicly pointed out the failure on the part of Bishop Gumbleton. And, had the courage to disrupt the schedule of certain organizatios to impose Church discipline and protect the faithful from Bishop Gubeltons' errors.

And in Iowa, the Bishop of Sioux City has issued a pastoral letter that actually addresses the reality of continuity and liturgical reform, in accodance with the mind of the Church and the guidlines from the Vatican, and that respects the Popes authority over the Liturgy of the Roman Rite.

These are changes I can believe in!

I aint'n't ded!

But things are diffricult right now. It seems that through a clerical oversight, I was over compensated by the VA. They told me that a payment plan could be worked out to recover the overage, so I waived my appeal and said OK. After all, if it was overcompensation--which it was--I did owe the money to the Government, wchicch is to say, the people of the United States.

The payment plan was set at 100% of my pension.

So now I am a 50 year old guy, with multiple axis disability and no income, searching for work in the worst economy we've had since I have been on Earth.

And my computer is next to dead, so I use the computers at the public library.

Oh well...worse things happen in Europe.
