TRIUMPHALIST--YOU GOT A PROBLEM WITH THAT?

TRIUMPHALIST--YOU GOT A PROBLEM WITH THAT? I believe that the Catholic Church was founded by Christ, on his Apostles, especially Peter, the first Pope. I believe in the teachings of the Ecumenical councils, I revere the Fathers of the Church, and I am an unapologetic Ultramontane Catholic. If you don't like it, too bad.

Blest and Beloved.

I was cleaning that pit I call a room yesterday. (I would be ashamed for any of you to see my room!) When I had a thought. I was Blest by God, and beloved by God.

And all the blessing I have recieved in my life, from being alive, to my family, my children and grandkids, the food I eat, all of it was just a freely given gift. A gift given because God the Father loves me, and God the Son wants me to be able to participate in that love because he loves me, and God the Holy Spirit so loves me that he's always there lead, luring, cajoling, whatever it takes to help me respond to that love.

And God doesn't love me aside from my sinfulness. He just loves me and helps me to move beyond sinfullness to grace. And he doesn't love me despite my sinfullness, he just loves me.

Now, it's also quite clear he loves everyone like that, and wants everyone to respond to him.

So when I die, I will be judged. And I will have a lot to answer for. But I will have nothing to set beside them except the love that Christ Jesus has poured out upon me, and upon every individual who will allow it, that in blood covers all our sins and imperfection. A love like no other, that I can't even begin to explain or express.

I am now so looking forward to my next confession.

Why do I think the Dems and the President are Anticatholic?

Try this little bit on:

Martha Coakley, the Democratic contender for Kennedy's empty senate seat, has publicly said concerning Catholics on camera, that "...you can have religious freedom but you probably shouldn't work in an emergency room."

How nice of her to concede that we can have religious freedom. ( After all, it depends on her, not the constitution!) Of course, we'll have to suffer discrimination in the employment sector and all, but we deserve, I guess.

BTW--Ms Coakley made this comment in reference to her belief that nuns shouldn't be allowed to work in Catholic Hospitals--privately owned institutions (that is, not owned by the government).

Oh--She was the first person to be able to get anything on the monster pedophile John Grogan--and she let him off--seven years before she got famous for prosecuting him. That's why he had no prior record. And, she didn't bother trying to find out by subpoena if there had been other complaints against him.

This person wants to be a US senator. Ugh!

*Sigh*

OK, I went news surfing. Here's what I found that disturbs me.

Two photo links on Fox news to celebrities modeling underwear.
Three on an NBC link, at the bottom, to celebrities in erotic wear/sexy clothes etc.
On a British news site, video link to the "sexiest advert ever".
So on and so forth.

This is worse than the Roman Persecutions--because at least then you were required to go to the temple and offer incense to a statue of the Emperor. Now things we Catholics shouldn't be doing just pop up even when we just want to read the news from multiple sources.

I think the old Eremites of Egypt may have had something going when they just fled society.

More on our Presidents opposition to religion.

The White House Office of Faith Based and Neighborhood Partnerships Task Force is debateing onwhether or not to require religious organizations that recieve federal assistance (like, from an area ten agency funder or assited food bank) to cover up all the religious symbols in the area where they are providing a service.

The options seem to be cover them up, period. Let then stand if that's the only space you have, or not to worry about it.

No agreement yet.

But why are they even considering the question, unless deep down they are anti-religious?

Varia

Ok, being out of the loop has left me with the problem of having so many things I would talk about, that I can't really narrow it down. So here are some quick "blog bites" on things going on.

The Case of the Flaming Underwear: So we have a Jihadist trying to blow up a plane, but only succeeding in setting his underwear on fire and throwing everyone into a tizzy. Obama called this right--it was a systemic failure. However: He has been in charge of the system for a year now, an we haven't had an incident like this for several years under the old management. It makes me wonder if he has appointed or retained the right people for the job.

Catholic Campaign for Human Development: OK--they got caught funding organizations that didn't support Catholic teaching, and that were redistributing funds to pro-abortion groups, and pro-gay groups. So there was some tweeking and the program was declared fixed. Except us pesky laymen just won't stay out of things that don't concern us, and another group was exposed. The Archdiocese of San Francisco investigated and recertified the group as appropriate! This program needs to be shut down. Perhaps another program could be instituted with better control over what it does with our money. But perhaps we should just discard the whole lame idea?

Is Obama Anticatholic? Well, let's see: Dawn Johnson, Frank Kamminy. Hmmm. Renominating Dawn Johnson. His "Catholic Outreach. You be the judge. But I personally feel here is a man who would get rid of us, silence our bishops, i he could find a way. After all, he is the candidate who once wrote that we should "get past constitutional limitations".

California moving to legalize Pot: So? They need the tax revenue. It would simplify and lessen the cost of police work. And it's their state. I like the 10th Amendment. I don't care.

Can we get passed Moral Outrage? I'm wondering if we can stop screaming at those poor benighted persons we get all angry about and somehow evangelize them into living right. Problem is, I'm part of the problem. Ahhh, the dichotomy of being me.

That Statue: OK--now there is a statue of Rembert Weakland in his old cathederal. And I am pretty much not pleased. Let's leave aside the question, for a moment, of his involvement in concealing homosexual abuse of adolescent boys. Leave aside, as well, his own violation of his vows (we was a professed religious--not a diocesan-clergyman). How about he embezzeled almost half a million dollars of the Archdiocese to pay off his paramore!

What's wrong with us?

Wow! The weather has just S****d!

Sorry for my absence. But I have been using the Library computers since the death of our home machine. (The Stimulus Package didn't include funding for a new 'puter at home!) With wind chills in the single digits and low teens for the last couple of weeks (nearly) I've not been walking around outdoors--It makes my arthritis and old injuries ache, and wears me out to the point of near exhaustion. I just guess that makes me old!
