Local Lies and Propaganda
Thursday's Louisville Courier-Journal ran a headline about how smoothly the first day of school went for Jefferson County Public School corporation. The issue in question is the busing plan.
I believe the headline to be a lie, and propaganda for the progressive element which controls the School Corporation. I do not have the figures for Wednesday, but the TV stations were reporting on thursday that the last kids got home at 7:13 PM.
7:13 PM.
That's not running smoothly, or even acceptably. Yet the local paper, being wedded to both the progressive wing of the Democratic partyand the policy of never reporting in any depth on the problems it's cause here didn't want to mention this in a way that would put peoples backs up.
7:13 PM. Anybody who has raised kids, or even read decent books on raising kids, know that when they get home fromschool they need an after school snack. These kids didn't even get home until after most families have had dinner. They didn't get a snack. instead, they were cooped up on a bus for hours. Do you remember the school bus from when you were a kid? Kids on the bus have minimal supervision, and it's something of a zoo. A lot goes on on the school bus, except for snacks, family contact, a time to calm down and relax.
Or time for homework.
7:13 PM. You know they talk a lot about bullying in schools, and if memory serves me correctly, a lot of it occurred on the bus. I'm pretty sure that unpopular kids, fat kids, strange kids, or kids who are not quite bad enough for the short bus, catch hell on these long bus rides. But that doesn't seem to matter. Maybe because they are not identifiably gay.
I must admit that this is an improvement over last year, when some didn't get home until 9:00 PM or so.
This is emblematic, to me, of the liberal,leftist, progressive press and mindset, that will willingly call shit braunschweiger. Well call it what you will, 'm not spreading it on toast, and the fact you can even try this shows you have no sense of journalistic ethics, or even common integrity, and would rather lie than endanger your parties agenda.
Agenda? Oh hell yeah! The busing plan was struck down by the Federal Courts here, as being racially biased and motivated, The Superintendent said they would maintain their "commitment to diversity" and just shuffled the buses, with different justifications on paper, and they are still screwing over the kids for the sake of a discredited political position. It's time for some conservatives, or just plain old pissed off parents, to take a leaf from the left and protest--in front of the houses of the School Corporation officers.

Truth
I am nothing. Nothing! I have few and minor accomplishments, and less talent. I have no store of wisdom, and no merits of my own. I am a weak willed, sinful person, and I have a divided heart. I have nothing of which to boast, nothing of which to be proud and nothing I can point to and say "I have done this for the Lord". I haven't helped anyone to sanctity or faith. My learning is spotty, incomplete and paltry. And I'm alright with this.
In fact, I feel that today, I should thank God for this, because having nothing of my own, nothing to use, to give, that means anything at all that happens around me, anything that I am involved in that is not evil, is to Gods Glory, for I am nothing, not even the least faithful of servants.
Because I have nothing, Christ Our Lord can give Glory to his Heavenly Father, through anything--no matter how small--I do that is virtuous.
In this way, even someone like me can serve to Glorify the lord.
In fact, I feel that today, I should thank God for this, because having nothing of my own, nothing to use, to give, that means anything at all that happens around me, anything that I am involved in that is not evil, is to Gods Glory, for I am nothing, not even the least faithful of servants.

20% of American Kids are now living in Poverty. Despite your Bail outs and Policies, in fact, possible worsened by your Bail Outs and Policies. Yeah, you inherited a mess from G.W. Bush. You also inherited a working government and a AAA credit rating. This is YOUR FAULT. What's worse, over 30% of American Kids live in homes where neither parent can find full time employment.
The school kids in Joplin MO are starting back to school, after devastation by tornado, Their return was facilitated by aid from The United Arab Emirates! Not from the US. Thanks bunch, you ineffectual Jackwagon!
The official unemployment rate is hovering around 10%--but since people who have been dealing with long term unemployment are dropped from the roles of the workforce, estimates range from 15-20% unemployment, and you and your pizzos are lying and covering up.
Then there is your insistence that people who vote for and support Ron Paul, are returning Veterans, go to Gun Shows, support Pro Life causes, etc, are potential terrorists, all the while your administration facilitated the illegal export of illegal fire arms to drug lords.
You are the worst president I've lived under, possibly the worst ever, and now your having DHS and FBI circulate guidelines that make me suspected of potential terrorist activity because I talk about it.
I'm not even going tinto your roto-fascist attempts to undermine free speech, your hostility to religion and Christianity, or your pandering to Islam.
You suck like vacuum cleaner. If you are reelected, it will be the ruin of our once great republic.

ASSUMPTION
Today is the Solemnity of the Assumption, when we celebrate Mary's being assumed, body and soul, into Heaven. In Germany, at least in the part I was in, it was called "Maria Himmelfahrt"--May's journey to Heaven. Our Orthodox Brethren--may we soon be one Church again!--refer to this as The Dormition of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
There a re minor differences between the Catholic and Orthodox positions on this. Yet we agree on one thing--the Apostles were left with an empty spot where Our Lady had been, for she was taken to Heaven. This is a direct result, in my mind, to Her Holy and Immaculate Conception--death and bodily corruption are the direct result of original sin, and she was free of it's stain through the Merits of Our Lord Jesus Christ (NOT through her own merits!)
Ill informed people, especially protestants, like to toss out that this was not defined until the 1950s. What they fail to take note of is that this is a shared belief between the Catholic and the Orthodox Churches, and that we haven't been in a concrete unity since 1054--this belief was around long, long before then, and comes from the Apostle John, who care for Our Lady after her son's death and resurrection. It was infallibly defined because it was challenged, not because it was new.
One of the biggest things that convinced me of this is the fact that no has, or has ever claimed to have, a first class relic of the BVM! Even in the corrupt, relic mad time of the High Middle Ages, when traffic in relics was heavy and counterfeit relics were common, no one ever claimed to have a relic of her body!
Aside from the sheer awe and wonder of the power of God, this Solemnity says something to us that we need to remember--Our bodies will be restored and glorified by the Lord, and we will take them with us when we go to our final reward. The Assumption is a seal on the promise of the resurrection, and the type of the last days when we will all appear before our Judge, in our bodies. Moreover, the Assumption, no less than the Resurrection, demonstrate one other thing--Heaven is a place. Mary is there, in her body. Jesus is there, in His Body. If you have bodies, they are material, possessing both weight and volume--so you have to have a place to put them! The Assumption demonstrates that we will have bodies in the afterlife, and that there will be a place prepared for us--that Heaven is as real as rocks!
